Wicked's New Wizard

The spell-binding West End musical Wicked is a huge hit with West End audiences. Nigel Planner will be taking his final bow as The Wizard on June 7th and will be replaced by Desmond Barritt from June 9th.

Desmond Barrett is currently playing Hector in The History Boys and has an extensive theatre history with roles in HMS Pinafore, Twelfth Night, Stuff Happens, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way To the Forum, Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Henry IV: Part 1 and 2, Eurydice and Real Inspector Hound / Black to his name.

Wicked currently stars Kerry Ellis as Elphaba (until June 7th), Dianne Pilkington as Glinda, Oliver Tompsett as Fiyero and Susie Blake as Madame Morriblie. Susie Blake will be replaced in the role by Harriet Thorpe from 14th April.

Wicked tells the story of Oz long before the arrival of Dorothy and Toto. A magical tale of 2 girls, one is blonde haired and popular and the other is... well, green skinned and destined to become the Wicked Witch of the West. Adapted from the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked shows the Emerald City as you've never seen it before.
