West End Family Fun Day
On Tuesday 26 May, London's Southbank Centre welcomes children to come and take part in a range of singing, dancing and craft workshops as part of National Family Week.
The free event is held in the Clore Ballroom at the Royal Festival Hall from 11am and offers fun for every member of the family. Here are just a few highlights planned for the day:
Dancers from the English National Ballet will be performing a short pas de deux followed by a workshop with a Ballets Russes theme that everyone can join in with.
Mary King, judge and vocal coach from Channel 4's Operatunity and Musicality will be on hand to take families through a range of vocal exercises before inviting everyone to join in a West End singalong of the nation's favourite musical numbers.
The cast of Thriller Live will be performing part of the show for your enjoyment. One of the newest arrivals to the West End, this high octane musical celebrates the undisputed king of pop, Michael Jackson.
The resident director and choreographer of Oliver! will be putting you through your paces as you learn the words and dance to the famous Consider Yourself show tune.
National family week runs from 23 - 31 May, 2009. There are events taking place across the UK, Kids Week in the West End is just one of the many fun activities on offer. To find out what's happening in your town, check out the National Family Week website.
