Acclaimed version of Waiting for Godot returns to the Haymarket for limited run.
This year's sell-out run of Beckett's Waiting for Godot starring Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart brought experimental theatre to the mainstream. After several months on hiatus, producers have announced that Sean Mathias's version of the play will return to the Theatre Royal Haymarket next year.
Starring Patrick Stewart, Simon Callow and Sir Ian McKellen, the production was one of the most celebrated in the history of the West End and broke all box office records at the Theatre Royal.
Returning in January, the cast will be without Callow and Stewart but will star Roger Rees, Matthew Kelly, Ronald Pickup and Sir Ian McKellen.
Following its current production of Breakfast at Tiffany's starring Anna Friel, Waiting for Godot will preview from 21January and will complete its 11-week run on the 3 April, 2010.
If you were unfortunate enough to miss the production when it played in the West End last time, be sure to catch this magnificent piece of theatre when it returns in the new year.
