The Unstoppable Rise Of George Sampson

Street Dancer

George Sampson, the 15-year-old winner of Britain's Got Talent, received a standing ovation at the first performance of his run in Hip Hop musical Into The Hoods in the West End.

Sampson's impressive street-dancing skills first came into the public eye in the 2007 series of Britain's Got Talent. Despite judge Simon Cowell's approval, Sampson failed to qualify for the show's semi-finals. He returned to the streets of Manchester to refine his technique and stormed to victory in the 2008 series. His spirited performances dancing to Rock This Party and Mint Royale's remix of Singin' In The Rain won the nations hearts (and votes).

Sampson was once a familiar sight on Manchester's Market Street, regularly drawing large crowds, but nothing could prepare the fast-footed youngster for his reception at the Novello Theatre. Young girls screamed from the audience, many with "I love you George" painted on their faces. After the show the crowd refused to disperse from outside the theatre, once again screaming for Sampson until he appeared with a large minder to sign autographs.

Rumour has it that young Sampson's already enviable career and bank balance is only just getting started. The pint-sized dance phenomenon is rumoured to have signed a deal worth £1 million with Natwest bank to become the face of their 11-18 account and is releasing his own music video.

It seems nothing can stop George Sampson's meteoric rise to stardom in the UK, best of all, he seems to be truly having fun along the way.
