Injury Forces Under the Blue Sky to Close

X-ray

The first public performance of David Eldridge's Under The Blue Sky starring outspoken comedienne Catherine Tate has been cancelled.

A statement from the shows producers explains that Tate injured her ankle yesterday, during the final dress rehearsal. The extent of the damage will not be known until the results of Tate's X-rays are finalised. A spokesperson for Tate optimistically stated that it is hoped she will return to the boards tonight.

Tate recently publicly attacked theatre ticket pricing, describing it as "elitist" and saying "If you want more people to come to the theatre, don't put the prices at £50." Stalls tickets for Under the Blue Sky are £46.

Under the Blue Sky was first performed at the Royal Court in 2000 and was well received. The play deals with the lives, loves and lusts of teachers and paints a remarkably honest picture of love and relationships in the 21st century. We at Show and Stay® wish Tate a speedy recovery.
