Sanjeev Bhaskar to lead Spamalot to the Bitter End

Spamalot

Comedy legend Snajeev Bhaskar will play the revered 'King Arthur' in Monty Python's Spamalot until it finishes in the West End on January 3rd, 2009.

Bhaskar was supposed to finish as the lead in this outrageously silly musical on October 5th, but due to his phenomenal success in the role, it has been agreed that he stay on until the new year. Bhaskar had taken the part in June, following in the footsteps of Tim Curry, Simon Russell Beale and Peter Davison.

Though Bhaskar had done precious little work on stage, and had next to no dance or singing experience, he quickly established himself as 'King Arthur' and has been a huge hit with audience members and critics alike.

"Lovingly ripped-off" from the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot focusses on a medieval hunt for the holy relic that incorporates all the famous characters from the Arthurian legend... and few more for good measure!

Also starring Nina Söderquist as 'The Lady of The Lake', Gerard Carey as 'Prince Herbert', and Ross Dawes as 'Sir Robin', Spamalot will play at the Palace Theatre over the Christmas period until January 3rd. Book tickets with Show and Stay®
