Priscilla Romps into the West End
With a transfer to the London stage long on the cards, Show and Stay® can finally confirm that Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is scheduled to run at the Palace Theatre from March next year.
Based on the Oscar-winning film of 1994, the musical version of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert has been wowing audiences across the globe since October 2006. Re-telling the story of three mis-fits travelling across the Australian Outback in a battered old bus, Priscilla is a vibrant narrative chock full of classic disco-inspired sing-a-longs.
Featuring live performances of "Dont Leave Me This Way", "I Will Survive", and "I Love The Nightlife", Priscilla, Queen of the Desert incorporates some of the best-loved popular music from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert begins when 'Tick', a struggling drag queen from Sydney, is offered the chance to perform a four week stint at the Alice Springs Casino. Needing to cross the Outback in little more than a clapped-out bus, Tick is accompanied by his transsexual friend 'Bernadette' and party-boy Adam who come along for the ride in this funny and moving tale about family and friendship.
Playing at the Palace from March 2009, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is sure to be a fantastic night of music and mayhem so don't miss out!
