Skins' Rising Star to Debut in the West End
Young actor Nicholas Hoult, most famous for his part in E4's teen soap Skins, is set to star in the West End in new production of New Boy.
A hit at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2000, Russell Labey's New Boy has previously enjoyed a brief stint at the Pleasance Theatre in the capital and successful runs Off-Broadway and in Australia. The return to the West End will be housed at Trafalgar Studio 2 and is set to run for a limited time between March 19th and April 11th, 2009.
Nicholas Hoult first rose to fame aged just 11 when he played opposite Hugh Grant in the classic British film About a Boy. In recent years Holt has attracted considerable success in the cutting-edge teen drama Skins. Nicholas has also appeared in acclaimed British films like Kidulthood and The Weatherman but his performance in New Boy will mark his West End debut.
New Boy will also star Mel Giedroyc who has just finished playing half of the hapless presenting duo in Eurobeat: The Eurovision Musical with Les Dennis. To see what we thought of Mel's performance, check out Show and Stay's review of Eurobeat.
New Boy certainly has the promise to be a little gem of a production when it opens next spring. If you would like to see Nicholas Hoult in the testing limelight of the West End, then be sure to contact the theatre direct; it's bound to be a huge sell-out!
