Nancy Niamh Wows Edinburgh with her Performance in Only the Brave

Niamh Perry

Niamh Perry, one of our favourite contestants on the BBC's I'd Do Anything, has embarked on her professional career at the Edinburgh Festival in an edited version of a new musical, Only the Brave

"Saving Private Ryan meets les Mis" is how one critic is describing Niamh's latest foray into the world of musical theatre. Niamh stars as 'Belle', a beautiful French Nurse who looks after British infantrymen during the Second World War in the new Matthew Brind musical Only the Brave. Though she missed out on the role of 'Nancy' in the upcoming revival of Oliver!, Niamh is said to be happy in the role and "in fine voice".

In a complex narrative that follows the lives of an entire company of soldiers, Only the Brave features strong and stirring performances from Gareth Richards, Gerald Bentall and Any Dream Will Do finalist Keith Jack.

Paying tribute to the immense heroism of allied soldiers during WW2, Only the Brave is being tipped as the next big musical success. It may still be too early to tell whether or not the show will be transferred to the West End, but here's hoping we get a chance to see this promising musical in the capital.
