Open Auditions for Michael Jackson Musical
The producers of the upcoming biopic of Michael Jackson's career have confirmed that they are looking for a young unknown actor to play the popstar as a child.
The open auditions will take place at the Lyric Theatre on November 23rd. Casting directors are looking for a young African American or mixed race boy aged 11 to 15 to play the young Jackson. In particular, producers are on the hunt for a performer gifted with an "excellent unbroken pop/rock voice with a high range".
The Michael Jackson musical, called Thriller, is set to open at the Lyric Theatre on January 21st, 2009. Coming straight off the back of three UK tours and runs in Germany, Holland and Scandinavia, the show is already amassing a huge following both in Britain and on the Continent.
Anyone interested in taking part in the open audition would be expected to perform either Ben, I Want you Back or I'll Be There to a panel of casting directors.
With choreography from Jackson's long-term collaborator Gary Lloyd, the show promises to be a huge success in the West End when it opens next year. A celebration of one of the most successful recording artists of all time, Thriller is bound to be an unforgettable and explosive show.
Show and Stay® would like to wish all the auditionees the best of luck!
