Keith Allen To Walk The Plank

Pirate Booty

British comedian, actor and writer, Keith Allen, is taking on a new challenge this winter, the West End stage. Allen will make his West End debut at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. He will play Long John Silver in a new stage adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island from 17th November 2008.

This swashbuckling new stage show will be directed by Sean Holmes with lighting by Complicite's Paul Anderson, design by Lizzie Clachan and music by Tom Haines and Ross Hughes. The production will also feature a live band on stage.

Allen is perhaps best known for his role in the 1996 film Trainspotting and his vocal work in the band Fat Les. Other members of whom included artist Damien Hirst and Blur's Alex James.

With his broad range of experience, his unique style of humour and more than a little cheeky chappy charm, Allen is sure to bring something unique to the stage. Treasure Island opens at the Royal Theatre Haymarket on 17th November 2008 following previews on 7th November.
