Josh Hartnett to Star in the West End Version of Rain Man
Hollywood A-lister Josh Hartnett is set to reprise the role popularised by Tom Cruise in a West End adaptation of the 1988 film classic Rain Man
Running at the Apollo Theatre from the 9th September, Hartnett will make his West End debut playing Charlie Babbitt in this moving, funny and redemptive tale of a man who finds himself looking after his severely autistic brother Raymond (played here by Olivier nominated British actor Adam Godley).
The self-centred Babbitt first learns he has an autistic older brother when their father passes away. Charlie kidnaps Raymond from the institution where he stays in order to get his hands on the $3 million left to him by their father. As the bond between the two brothers strengthens however, Charlie realises something far more valuable than his share of their father's inheritance.
Cleverly updated to the present by Dan Gordon, this stage play is set to be a huge hit when it opens in the Autumn. To hear our views on the stage version of Rain Man check out our blog post published last week.
