Hale to play Scrooge in A Christmas Carol

Gareth Hale of the comedy duo Hale and Pace is to play the role of Scrooge in a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

A Christmas Carol will run from 11 November, 2009 until 10 January, 2010 at the Arts Theatre. It is adapted by Hackney Empire's associate director, Susie McKenna and composer Steve Edis, whose credits include The Merchant of Venice at the National Theatre.

The show is the first of a five year initiative which will see Tiny Tim Productions putting on a Christmas show at the venue annually.

Hale will be joined on stage by Simon Lipkin, Michael Matus, Sharon D. Clarke, Rebecca Thornhill.
