A 30-minute snippet from Cameron Mackintosh's production of Hair is to be performed at this year's Latitude Festival.
Home to a varied line-up of music, comedy, theatre and dance; Suffolk's Latitude Festival is now in its fifth year. The festival takes place from July 15-18 and with over 700 performers attending, crowds of more than 25,000 are expected.
Speaking to The Stage, the festival's special events promoter said: "Hair is a first for us. Its something that Ive looked at a couple of times and I think it has a great fit within a festival its definitely the right type of audience. Its going to be fun and we may look at doing something quite surprising and special with it as well.
With the theatre arena, were going to give it a thrust stage this year its easier for touring theatre to come into a thrust stage. There will also be theatre productions outside of the arena, which will actually use the festival space. Im working on creating a couple of pieces in a new area called the Faraway Forest. Weve definitely got more theatre this year than in previous years.
