Gone with the Wind Opening Soon!
Sir Trevor Nunn's version of the timeless American saga hits the West End this April With a cast that sizzles with expectation, the new musical version of Margaret Mitchell's award winning novel will spring into action on the 4th April. Reminiscent of cinema's silver age, the plot mirrors the grace and charm of the classic movie but set to an original score by Margaret Martin. Rhett Butler, originally portrayed by screen legend Clarke Gable, is to be played by ex popstar Darius Danesh. Most famous for his work on television shows such as Popstars and Pop Idol, Darius has since taken many high profile West End roles including the mercilessly suave Billy Flynn in Chicago.
The southern belle, Scarlett O'Hara, is to be played by the stunning Jill Paice. Since cutting her theatrical teeth in Lloyd Webber's The Woman in White, Paice has oscillated between productions in the West End and Broadway and has amassed quite a following. She has had major roles in Les Miserables and Mamma Mia and will open Gone with the Wind at the New London Theatre this spring.
Directed by the legendary Sir Trevor Nunn, Gone with the Wind is sure to delight audiences and critics alike when it opens in April. So, think you should give a damn about this new showing opening? Frankly, my dear, we certainly think you should!
