Full Cast of Priscilla Announced

The full cast of Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Musical was announced yesterday. The upcoming show is an adaptation of the Australian 1994 Oscar-winner, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Tony Sheldon and Jason Donovan will take the leads, 'Bernadette' and 'Tick'. The cast will also include Emma Lindars, Zoe Birkett and Kate Gillespie as 'the three divas', Amy Field as 'Marion', Wezley Sebastian as 'Miss Understanding', Tristan Temple as 'Jimmy', Danielle Coombe as 'Shirley', Kanako Nakano as 'Cynthia', John Brannoch as 'Frank' and Steven Cleverly as 'Young Bernadette'.

Jon Tsouras, Jeremy Secomb, Craig Ryder, Phillip Arran, Matthew Cole, Amy Edwards, Mark Inscoe, Zabrina Norry, Will Peaco, John Phoenix and James Rees complete the cast of the colourful, high energy production.

The show tells the tale of a Sydney drag queen named 'Mitzi', or sometimes, 'Tick'. Tick heads on a journey across the Australian desert with her friends on a journey of self-discovery. Together the gang put on a truly unique show, something the likes of which the locals had never even dreamed, something unmistakably fabulous.

Like the original film, the stage adaptation features an upbeat disco soundtrack featuring familiar hits such as 'I Will Survive' and 'I Love The Nightlife'.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Musical opens at London's Palace Theatre 23 March, 2009.
