Corrie Heading For The Stage

ITV have announced plans to condense the entire 50-year history of Coronation Street into a two hour stage production.
Written by playwright and Coronation Street scriptwriter Jonathan Harvey, the stage show will take theatregoers through more than 50 years of the beloved soap opera. All 7000 episodes and 2000 storylines including 115 deaths, 37 births and 86 marriages.
The play will revive a variety of infamous and much-loved characters like Richard Hillman, Alan Bradley and Vera Duckworth.
Executive Producer of Coronation Street, Kieran Roberts, is to executive produce the stage production on behalf of ITV Studios. He said: "Im thrilled at the prospect of bringing to life on stage all the great stories and characters of 50 years of Coronation Street and Im sure the play will be a real treat for Corrie fans as well as a great night out in the theatre."
Coronation Street Abridged Live! launches in August at the Lowry Theatre, Salford, before embarking on a nationwide tour.
