Connie Fisher Turns to The Maestro after solving Webber's Maria problem
Fresh from her stint as the world's favourite au pair Maria von Trapp, Connie Fisher will perform in Simply Bernstein, a concert to celebrate the work of the legendary American composer. Running from the 4th - 6th April Simply Bernstein will be a huge festival of Leonard Bernstein's remarkable music. Being played at South London's prestigious Cadogan Hall, the show will be similar to last year's smash hit Simply Sondheim.
Connie Fisher first came to the attention of the public when she won the BBC's How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?. Presided over by West End theatre giant Andrew Lloyd Webber, Fisher beat thousands of young hopefuls to become the new face at the helm of Webber's resurrection of the timeless musical The Sound of Music. Since the show opened in November 2006, Fisher has gone from strength to strength and has won numerous accolades and newcomer awards for her breathtaking performances.
This new show will feature, amongst others, such sensational songs as "I feel Pretty", "America" and "Maria" from Bernstein's seminal 1957 collaboration West Side Story
With a career that stands up against any composer or conductor of recent times, Bernstein's award winning scores soar beyond the usual range of musical theatre and stand alone as serious works of art in their own right. With such an all-star cast, this upcoming incarnation promises to be a show no to be missed!
