Christmas in New York Returns to the West End
For one night only, Christmas In New York, an all-singing all-dancing celebration of the stage, returns to the West End with a whole host of established and emerging stars.
The show will be playing at the Lyric Theatre on Decmeber 7, 2008 and features leading lady Maria Friedman, Avenue Q's Julie Atherton, Wicked's Oliver Tompsett and Ashleigh Gray, Blood Brothers's Richard Renyard, Footloose and Evita's Lorna Want and Michael Xavier of Monty Python's Spamalot.
The one off musical began back in 2006 as a festive concert celebrating a combination of the best seasonal songs from musicals and traditional Christmas carols. Presented by the Notes From New York Team, the show is committed to showcasing new talent and material.
This year, a new song has been written by Michael Bruce, winner of 2007's Notes For The Stage competition to find a new Christmas song. Bruce will also orchestrate and arrange other material for the show.
Notes From New York have previously introduced the work of numerous American and British composers to the London stage. Currently celebrating their fifth successful year, the group's latest show, Notes in Heels, showcased the work of Georia Stitt, Jenny Gieiring and Zina Goldrich, three composers from New York.
Christmas in New York will is showing at the Lyric Theatre on December 7 when comedian Eddie Izzard will be taking a welcome respite from his latest show, Stripped.
