Buckley To Star In Sondheim's Night Music

Jessie Buckley

Jessie Buckley, the talented runner up from BBC's I'd Do Anything is to join Margerite's Alexander Hanson, Olivier Award-winner Maureen Lipman and Spamalot's Hannah Waddingham on stage in Trevor Nunn's revival of A Little Night Music by Stephen Sondheim.

The hotly anticipated revival runs from 3rd December 2009 until 8th March 2009 at the Menier Chocolate Factory. A Little Night Music tells the engaging story of several couples and their tangled love lives set against the backdrop of Sweden at the turn of the 20th century.

A Little Night of Music premiered on Broadway in 1973 and later opened in the West End in 1975 at the Adelphi Theatre. Since it's premiere there have been two major revivals, the first at London's Piccadilly Theatre in 1989 and the other at the National Theatre in 1995. The National Theatre's production led to Judi Dench winning the Olivier Award for 'best actress in a musical' for her performance.

With design by multi-award winner, David Farley and choreography by Lynne Page as well as the stunning all-star cast, A Little Night Music is sure to be a huge hit in the West End next spring.
