Blood Brothers Casting Update
There's been some cast changes undertaken in Willy Russell's long running West End show Blood Brothers at the Phoenix Theatre.
The cast now features Stephen Palfreman as Mickey, Richard Reynard as Eddie, Louise Davidson as Mrs Lyons, Louise Clayton as Linda, Rob Hughes as PC/Teacher, Alastair Brookshaw as Perkins, Amy O'Neill as Donna Marie and Karl Greenwood.
Cast members continuing their roles include Lyn Paul as Mrs Johnstone, Craig Price as Narrator, Stephen Pallister as Mr Lyons, Michael Southern as Sammy, Alex Harland as Bus Conductor and Anna Sambrook as Brenda.
Blood Brothers first opened on the West End at the Lyric Theatre in 1985 though enjoyed little success. The second incarnation opened at the Albery Theatre in July 1988 and it is this production that is still showing today at the Phoenix Theatre after transferring in 1991.
This West End musical tells the story of twins, separated at birth whose paths cross again years later in friendship and anger. The production examines the nature vs. nurture debate as the twins' different backgrounds take them to opposite ends of the social spectrum. When both twins fall in love with the same girl there's some intense and dramatic results.
