Batman Musical to Premiere at Comic Convention

The new Batman animated series has announced the premiere of its first musical episode
Entitled Mayhem of the Music Meister, the new musical is from the creators of the latest cartoon series Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Being unveiled to fans at a comic book convention in San Diego this Friday, the light-hearted musical stars How I met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris as the Caped Crusader's new nemesis, the Music Meister.
Producer of the series, James Tucker, told the LA Times: “It was always in the back of my mind that a musical would be a fun thing to do”. Enlisting the help of co-producer Michael Jelenic, Tucker set about writing the basic framework of the show.
The production really started to take shape last July when Tucker and Jelenic, who have no songwriting experience, met with composers Lolita Ritmanis, Michael McCuistion and Kristopher Carter.
According to Tucker, the biggest challenge was the finale with its “big, over-the-top, Busby Berkeley feel”. Reports reveal that Mayhem of the Music Meister also features a huge ballad, a rock number and a funny patter song in which all the villains complain about Batman.
