Andrew Lloyd Webber to Snap up Classical BRIT

Phantom of the Opera

Andrew Lloyd Webber's (already heaving) mantle piece is to be supplied with yet another trinket next month when he is recognised for his Outstanding Achievement in Classical Music.

The Classical Brit Awards were set up in 2000 to celebrate the nation's love for classical music. This year's star-studdied bash will be held at The Royal Albert Hall on the 8th May and will feature performances from Andrea Bocelli, Nigel Kennedy and Sarah Brightman.

Andrew's glittering career has already earned him a great deal of silverwork. His previous awards include Tonys, Grammys, Ivor Novello Awards and even a Golden Globe and an Oscar but, until now, no Brit Award. On hearing the news, Lloyd Webber declared that he was "absolutely thrilled" to be honoured in this way.

Andrew can currently be found judging West End hopefuls on the BBC talent show I'd Do anything. The public search to find the new lead roles in the upcoming production of Oliver! has become staple viewing for Saturday night television and has made the master of musical theatre more popular than ever.
