The Prisoner Of Second Avenue

Show synopsis

Set in 1970s New York, The Prisoner of Second Avenue follows Mel (Jeff Goldblum) and Edna Edison as they tackle the constant challenges of urban life.

Redundancy, a nationwide economic crisis, an actual daylight robbery, and striking binmen combine to push Mel over the edge and into a nervous breakdown. Family gather to support the increasingly self-pitying Mel while Edna quietly carries the burden of her husband's disintegration.
