Shaftesbury Theatre
The Shaftesbury Theatre opened on December 26th 1911, originally known as the Princes Theatre before being bought by EMI in 1963 when it became the Shaftesbury Theatre. Parts of the ceiling fell in on July 20th 1973 and it narrowly avoided 'redevelopment' after a campaign by Equity led to the Government placing it on the Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest.
