The Architecture of The Shaftesbury

The Shaftesbury theatre is on the statutory list of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic interest. After the callopse of the auditorium ceiling during a performance of Hair the theatre was almost forced to shut until the public rallied together and saved the building. The theatre was totally redesigned and has recently been renovated.

The building is recognisable for it's Edwardian style, the tower on top of the building and it's shape.
