The Architecture of The Queen's Theatre

The architect for the Queen's Theatre was W.G.R. Sprague. This Edwardian Building was designed in the Renaissance Revival style. Following the bombings of World War II, The Queen's Theatre was re-constructed in 1959. The foyers, bars and theatre exterior were updated while the auditorium's Edwardian features were preserved.

By removing the fronts from several seating boxes, the set at the Queen's Theatre now flows out past the proscenium and into the auditorium. This design allows various stage technologies to be hidden and makes the audience feel more intimately involved with the show.
