Following the accident at the turn of the century, the building was rebuilt as The Playhouse, designed by Blow and Billerey.

The interior design of the Playhouse Theatre is an impressive cacophony of grandiose murals and rich excess, all topped off with a golden trim! This luxury interior compensates for the rather dwarfing presence of Charing Cross Station situated close to the outside of the theatre.
