Leonard Bernstein's Peter Pan

A new version of Peter Pan is to be staged at the King's Head theatre this Christmas. Adapted from J.M. Barrie's novel by Stephanie Sinclair, audience's will see the well-known tale unfold in contemporary London.

The really special thing about this production is that it will include the full score and lyrics written by the famous Broadway composer Leonard Bernstein. Bernstein worked on musicals such as 'Wonderful Town', 'On The Town', 'West Side Story' and also composed the score for 'On the Waterfront', the 1954 Oscar winning film starring Marlon Brando. Although five of his songs for Peter Pan were premiered on Broadway in 1950, this will be the first time that the score and lyrics will be performed in their entirety.

The production has an impressive team behind it, including costume designer Gary Page who is currently designing for the new Harry Potter film and will soon be working on the next Batman. Mike Dixon is the musical director, who has worked on We Will Rock You , Daddy Cool and Footloose among many others.
