Gone With the West End

On April 5th 2008 the greatest love story of all time will be coming to the West End in a new musical adaptation of Gone With The Wind at the New London Theatre.

Directed by the legendary Trevor Nunn, Gone With The Wind sees the director reuniting with designer Johan Napier with whom he collaborated on such worldwide hits as Cats and Les Misérables The original score is written by Margaret Martin who has adapted the story from Margaret Mitchell's Pulitzer Prize winning novel.

Margaret Mitchell's classic was made into the hit film starring Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh which become the highest grossing film of all time when it was released in 1939. Set in Atlanta, Georgia in the 1860's, Gone With The Wind follows the story of 17-year-old Scarlett O'Hara as her life of luxury on her father's plantation is turned to one of hardship and struggle by the American Civil War and, over a ten year period, how her struggle is is intertwined with a turbulent relationship with Rhett Butler.
