Essex to star in Footloose
The all singing, all dancing extravaganza Footloose proudly announces a new member of cast.
From the 5th June for three months, David Essex OBE will be taking the role of Reverend Shaw Moore replacing current actor Stephen McGann. Essex joins Cheryl Baker in this uplifting musical tale of a small town with big rules.
Although no stranger to the West End having previously starred in both Godspell and Evita, this performance in Footloose will mark 21 years since David Essex last graced a West End stage. No doubt that he will prove a great benefit to an already shining cast.
Footloose tells the story of Ren, a young boy who moves from the city to a small American town where dancing is banned - along with anything else that is remotely fun! Everything becomes complicated as Ren begins to let loose and he soon has the whole town on their feet.
