Change of Cabin-Crew aboard Boeing-Boeing

It opened at The Comedy Theatre to a great reception on February 15th and now a change of cast has been announced for the West End reproduction of Boeing Boeing.

Last seen on the West End in Guys and Dolls, Amy Nuttall will replace Tamzin Outhwaite as TWA stewardess Gloria from May 14th. Nuttall is perhaps best known for playing Chloe Atkinson in television's Emmerdale from 2000 to 2004. After leaving television Nuttall recorded a classical album which received much critical acclaim and was nominate for a Classical Brit. Amy Nuttall's theatre credits include roles in the touring productions of The Phantom of The Opera and My Fair Lady before playing opposite Patrick Swayze and Don Johnson as the missionary Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls.

The role of Bertha, currently played by Frances De La Tour, will be taken over by Patricia Hodge from 30th April. Hodge has an extensive history with the National Theatre including roles in His Dark Materials, Noises Off and Money for which she won a Laurence Olivier Award. Her television work includes Rumpole of the Bailey, playing Margaret Thatcher in Falklands Play and The Lives and Loves of a She-Devil.

Boeing Boeing tells the story of Bernard, an English playboy in Paris with 3 girlfriends. His girlfriends are air all hostesses and unaware of the others - thanks to a sophisticated system and the help of his long suffering housekeeper Bertha. With a timetable in place that allows him to spend time with each of his girlfriends whenever they stop in Paris everything runs smoothly for Bernard. Until Boeing introduce a new turbo-charged plane that changes everything. All of a sudden Bernard's system goes out of the window with the introduction of new schedules and delays. The there's the surprise arrival of a new school friend.
