Wicked celebrates five years in the West End

Wicked celebrated five magical years in the West End yesterday.

The smash-hit musical adaptation of Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel has raked in an incredible £145 million at the box office and has been seen by millions of theatre-goers. This anniversary makes the show the 18th longest-running West End musical of all time.

Michael McCabe, executive producer for Wicked in the UK, commented: “This is an incredible landmark for all of us involved in Wicked and we couldn’t be more delighted to have become such a popular, long-running hit. We are also proud that our continued success has enabled us to support so many charitable projects though our on-going ‘For Good’ programme. Our heartfelt thanks go to every single person who is part of this extraordinary production and to the millions of theatregoers who have been so supportive of the show since our very first performance five years ago.”

Despite its long run, Wicked remains among our most popular London theatre breaks. Wicked ticket and hotel packages are priced from £104pp.
