Is Matt Lucas Joining Les Mis’ Cast?

Matt Lucas is reportedly to join the cast of the West End production of Les Misérables.
The Sun newspaper has reported that the comedian is to play Thenardier for six months at the Queens Theatre. Apparently he was cast after impressing the show’s producers with his performance in Les Mis’ 25th anniversary show in December 2010.
The Sun make no mention of Lucas’ starting date, and it should be remembered that they also reported on the Jade Goody musical (which never happened) and the Robbie Williams musical (which will hopefully never happen).
