Festive Find of the Week: Winter Wonderland
Published on Friday 12th November, 12.00pm, Written by Jonathan Dudley
As the nights draw in and the first dusting of frost begins to appear in the mornings, something magical happens in London’s Hyde Park; a glittering Christmas kingdom appears as if from nowhere.

Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland is a free attraction open from 19 November to 4 January 2011, boasting markets, cockle-warming winter grub, and a host of other highlights.
The Angels Christmas Market features more than 100 stalls from around the world, ideal for finding a unique gift for someone special. If you’ve planned ahead and have already got your Christmas shopping sorted, then just enjoy watching the world go by while sampling some of the continental food and drink on offer or relaxing in an “English-style” cafe or bar.
As impressive as the Christmas market is and as delicious as the festive foods are, it’s the entertainment that really sets Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland apart. For just a few pounds you can enjoy thrill rides in the crisp winter air; watch the kids having fun on a helter skelter, steam train, or Santa’s roundabout; board a giant observation wheel; ice skate; or even buy tickets for the Wonderland’s superb Zippo’s Circus, Cirque D’Hiver, or the family-friendly Room on the Broom musical.
