Matt Willis and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt have been named as the leads in Flashdance The Musical.
Matt Willis is set to star in Flashdance The Musical
Flashdance tells the story of teenager Alex, a welder by day and a go-go dancer by night, and the show, which opens at the Shaftesbury Theatre in October is directed by Nikolai Foster and choreographed by Strictly Come Dancing star Arlene Phillips.
Matt Willis, perhaps best known for his spell in pop band Busted, will play leading man, Nick. The ex-chart topper won I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2006 and has since forged a successful television career. He is also married to the unfathomably pretty TV presenter Emma Griffiths.
Victoria Hamilton-Barritt will reprise the role of Alex, which she created for the UK Tour of Flashdance The Musical. She has recently played Rizzo in Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre, and her other theatre credits include Fame, Saturday Night Fever and Mamma Mia!
The show is based on the 1983 movie, and Flashdance The Musical theatre breaks are available now.
