Denise Van Outen Rumoured To Star In Legally Blonde The Musical

Is Denise Van Outen (pictured as Roxie Hart in Chicago) next in line to play Paulette in Legally Blonde The Musical?

We don’t normally report on rumour and speculation, but this is too good to ignore.

Whispers in Theatreland seem to suggest that Legally Blonde The Musical is going to have a cast shake up and the supposed new additions are, like, totally fabulous. OMG!

If the whispers are anything to go by, Sheridan Smith is set to pass Elle Woods’ pink stilettos on to the glamorous Laura Bell Bundy. Already experience in the role, Bundy starred as Elle on Broadway and seems the ideal person to take over from Smith who has dazzled West End audiences over the past months. A few practices of her bend and snap and we are sure she will be a great leading lady in this spectacular London show.

As if that isn’t enough excitement for one day, we have also heard on the grapevine that Denise Van Outen could star as denim-clad hairdresser Paulette. It is thought that Van Outen is preparing to replace Jill Halfpenny, who has to date impressed audiences with her hilarious performance of Elle’s wacky yet lovable friend who is in love with Ireland. If rumours are true, Van Outen would bring a wealth of experience to the stage having starred in numerous shows including Chicago the Musical, and we are sure she can pull off that wacky hair.

Denise, as we all know, is now the lovely wife of West End Leading Man Lee Mead, currently treading the boards as Fiyero in top musical Wicked.

There really is never a dull moment in the world of theatre and if these rumours are true, we are in for a treat as two great actresses take to the stage.

If you want to see Sheridan Smith and Jill Halfpenny before they leave, book a Legally Blonde The Musical theatre break today.

We’ll tell you more about these potential cast changes when we hear about them.
