London’s Cartoon Museum is at 35 Little Russell Street and is home to political cartoons, comic strips, caricatures and animations.

A unique museum, you can see the history of the popular art form the 18th century onwards.

The museum, founded by the Cartoon Arts Trust, proudly displays prints by William Hogarth and works by James Gillray who both regularly created artwork beaming with political satire. There are a host of classic war cartoons as well as artwork on loan from The Beano, the Dandy and The Topper. The Cartoon Museum has a library of over 3000 books and there is even a cartoon workshop.

So, if you are in London try poking around London’s somewhat unusual yet fascinating Cartoon Museum.
