Will Nick Jonas Attract A Younger Audience To Les Mis?

Nick Jonas started his role as Marius this week in Les Mis, but will this see an increase in teenage girls rushing to the Queen’s Theatre to get a glimpse of their heartthrob?

Nick Jonas in Les Mis. Wonderful.
Surely Legally Blonde is more appealing to a 16-year-old girl than a hard-hitting tale about the French Restoration?
Jonas is best known for being one third of US band The Jonas Brothers, being linked to Miley Cyrus and wearing a chastity ring. But before all of this, the 17-year-old had a string of roles on Broadway, appearing in Beauty and the Beast, The Sound of Music and even played Gavroche in Les Mis. And let’s not forget his appearance in Hannah Montana, showing he has credible acting experience behind him.
Is this is a good way of introducing shows like Les Mis to a younger audience or just a stunt casting designed to spice up a long running show?
Mini Jonas is playing the role of Marius until 10 July and is taking part in the one-off 25th anniversary show at the O2 Arena in October, and we wish him well.
Do you think it’s a good idea to put a Jonas in Theatreland?
