Hollyoaks Actress Leaves Soap For Theatre

Carley Stenson has announced she will be leaving Hollyoaks at the end of the year in order to pursue a career in musical theatre.

Stenson, who plays Steph Cunningham in the Channel 4 soap, joined the cast in 2000 and is arguably one of the most likeable characters in the programme. She has proven herself as a credible actress after dealing with many challenging story lines including suffering with epilepsy, her husband dying on their wedding day and now Steph has been diagnosed with cervical cancer.
The blonde beauty, who once dated ex-Hollyoaks star and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Ricky Whittle, is now looking to make a move into the world of theatre. Stenson said: “I am very sad to leave but I’m ready for new challenges and I’m looking forward to pursing a career in musical theatre.”

She is playing Margot and Understudy For Elle in Legally Blonde untl May then she will play Elle Woods full time. Amy Lennox herself told me this, she said it wasn’t common knowledge but it wasn’t exactly a secret
