Maxwell Caulfield and Grease 2 Karaoke

After my very pleasing discovery that many, many thousands of people love the piece of cinematic genius that is Grease 2, I am delighted to be able to report back some very exciting news.

Michelle Pfeiffer looking lovely

First, and most significantly, I have met Maxwell Caulfield. Yes, the Cool Rider himself. He was not wearing a pair of goggles like a man from outer space, nor was he slamming his hand angrily into a row of lockers. Instead, he’s currently playing the Narrator in the Rocky Horror Show on tour, and demonstrating some very energetic dancing abilities in the Timewarp.

Brilliantly, his castmates are pretty much all entirely fascinated with Grease 2 rather than any of his other oeuvre and have been urging him to tell his stories of his time on set. Which he does. But I’m not sure I can share any of them. Sorry.

Second, the brilliant Lucky Voice karaoke bar is adding Grease 2 songs to its playlist slowly but surely. Ever fancied yourself as Michelle Pfeiffer in skintight trousers astride a stepladder growling about your fantasies? Of course you have. Why not live them out in front of your friends as you sing-along-a-Cool Rider? It’s also been brought to my attention by @kevinsomething that Prowlin’ is a recent addition to the songsheet – as he quite rightly said in his newly-created hashtag #worstgrease2songeverbutitlldo. Fingers crossed that Love Will Turn Back The Hands Of Time will be the next available from the repertoire.

Oh, and if you’ve never seen Grease 2, get your hands on a DVD copy as soon as possible. And if you’ve never seen Grease, where have you been? Book yourself a Grease hotel and theatre break NOW!
