London Food Festivals 2010

London food festivals are a great way to experience some of the finest dishes from around the world, prepared by some of the best cooks around. A spectacular day out for budding chefs and all-round food lovers, there are a host of tongue-tingling, mouth-watering food festivals this year.

Taste of London, Thursday 17 – Sunday 20 June 2010, Regents Park.

A four-day food and drink festival, Taste of London is a popular event with foodies all around the globe. In conjunction with Channel 4 and in partnership with British Airways, this festival is a fabulous event held at London’s stunning Hyde Park. Guests can sample some of the most exquisite food from some of London’s top restaurants including the delectable Asia de Cuba, and the mouthwatering Tamarind. There will also a be a host of delectable dishes cooked by some of the best chefs in the world including celebrity chefs Michel Roux Jr, Vivek Singh and Gary Rhodes.

A sensory delight, Taste of London is a great day out for anyone who appreciates good food from all around the world. Enjoy the culinary delights of the Far East with Taste of Malaysia and enjoy demonstrations, performances and special dishes from top Malaysian restaurants.

The festival’s currency is a crown, worth 50p, crowns can be bought in advance with your ticket or at the festival. Signature dishes cost around 9 crowns!

Drink academies will also be available including the Taste Wine experience and there will also be a champagne masterclass.

London Restaurant Festival, October 2010, Citywide

The London Restaurant festival is a two-week celebration of eating out and is held in partnership with American Express. London’s diverse range of restaurants get together to cook delicious meals from fine ingredients in an attempt to satisfy food lovers from all around the world. All participating restaurants cook from special festival menus in an attempt to delight existing customers and to entice new ones. A great time to eat out in London, this event is a unique culinary experience and one of London’s most successful food events.

Feast on the Bridge, 11 and 12 September 2010, London

A spectacular harvest supper, Feast on the Bridge is a great food and drink festival that aims to reconnect city folk with foods from the earth and encourage people to gather in a public place, share a meal, and hold a conversation. Southwalk Bridge is transformed into a truly magical environment including banqueting tables and guests can sample food from some of the UK’s best producers. There are a whole range of exciting and somewhat unusual activities available to enjoy including butter churning and foraging for food along the Thames. Guests can also tread grapes at the Festival Wine Bar, bob for apples, carve pumpkins, share seeds and help create a 6-metre long cake.

The Bangla Town Curry Festival, 12 September, Brick Lane, London

The International Curry Festival is a very popular and well-loved event in London organized by the Bangla Town Restaurant Association (BTRA), which supports restaurants based in and around Brick Lane (Bangla Town). A fabulous experience, the streets are filled with curry stalls each displaying sensational and delicately prepared dishes all sending heavenly aromas of spice into the air. A haven for all curry lovers, the Bangla Town Curry Festival is recognized for its quality throughout Europe.
