The Architecture of The Lyceum

The current Lyceum Theatre is of huge architectural importance due to the varying historical influences on its design. It has been remarked that as audiences approach the theatre they 'will enter through an early Victorian portico, sit down in an Edwardian auditorium and watch a performance on a stage that has been completely rebuilt for the 21st century.'
From 1994 to 1996 The Lyceum Theatre was totally refurbished. The portico was restored, the auditorium decorated in rich reds and golds and modern equipment installed.
