The area of London dominated by Harrods and Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge is home to some of the worlds most famous stores. In fact the area is so intricately linked that it is possible to take an underground tunnel directly from the tube station to Harrods. Harrods is arguably the most famous department store in the world. The gargantuan building houses 300 departments and employs over 3000 staff. The Knightsbridge Harvey Nichols is the flag ship branch for the luxury shopping department store and has been a presence in the area since 1880. The store originally opened as a linen shop in 1813 before becoming the store we see today 67 years later. This department store is luxury itself, the decadence of the store is tangible and does not attract the volume of tourists normally to be found at Harrods. Pure temptation.

The Cartier business was founded in 1847 by Louis Cartier's grandfarther and it wasn't until 1911 that the famous Cartier watch was designed, nine years after the company set up in the UK. Cartier have many famous patrons including the Prince of Wales, Victoria and David Beckham and Justin Timberlake. This designer store sells Cartier products from watches to diamond earrings but at designer prices. This is certainly a mecca for all those that feel like splashing out.
