MAP for London Bridge Experience
Older than the city itself, London Bridge cuts a familiar outline across the capital's landscape. The structure began life as a simple wooden pontoon bridge, possibly as early as 53.A.D. It has been destroyed, rebuilt and updated countless times since. Deeply ingrained in British history, London Bridge is responsible for some surprising changes. In 1772 the bridge was so busy a new rule was imposed, "keep to the left" calmed the chaos on London Bridge and allowed the gatekeepers to collect their tolls with greater ease. Keeping to the left was adopted by the entire nation and to this day we still drive on the left-hand side. Offering a family-friendly mix of education and entertainment with interactive displays, costumed performers and an intriguing collection of historical artifacts, The London Bridge Experience is a fun, educational and affordable distraction form the buzz of the capital.
Beneath the child-friendly London Bridge exhibit lays a spine chilling catacomb of unfathomable spookiness. Located directly underneath the vaults of the London Dungeon Experience, the terrifying London Tombs offer a thrill to even the bravest visitor. Once the plague pits of 14th century London, the tombs have witnessed horrors unimaginable. During excavation hundreds of human bones were discovered and workmen reported mysterious movements in the gloom, missing tools, flickering lights and some very strange noises indeed. The vengeful spirits of the restless dead or just a rat? You decide.
With special effects worthy of Hollywood and a dark yet intriguing history, The London Tombs are not for the faint hearted.
