La Cage Aux Folles

Show synopsis

Based on the 1973 French play of the same name written by Jean Poiret, La Cage Aux Folles features a book by Harvey Fierstein and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman. The multi award-winning musical focuses on a gay couple: Georges, the manager of a glamourous Saint-Tropez nightclub featuring drag performers and Albin, the club's star attraction.

The happy lives of Georges and Albin are threatened when Georges' son, the progeny of youthful confusion and an encounter with a woman named Sybil, announces his engagement. Young Jean-Michel has fallen for Anne Dindon, the daughter of a local right-wing politician whose aim to is destroy the drag clubs that Georges and Albin call home.

Can Jean-Michel introduce his family to his in-laws without revealing their outrageous lifestyle? Should he even have to? You'll have to book now to see for yourself.

Douglas Hodge stars as Albin and Denis Lawson plays the role of Georges in the hit musical.
