Havana Rakatan
Show synopsis
Returning for a fourth sizzling season to the Peacock Theatre, Havana Rakatan combines jazz, mambo, bolero, son, cha-cha-cha, rumba and salsa into a dazzling celebration of Cuban passion and flare.
Havana Rakatan was founded by dancer and choreographer, Nilda Guerra in 2001. Since then, the exceptionally talented troupe and band have travelled the world, performing everywhere from the National Theatre of Cuba to the Edinburgh festival.
Havana Rakatan's dancers move to the infectious rhythm of Turquino, the show's very own eight piece traditional Cuban band. A toe-tapping blend of guitar, trumpet, bongo, guiro and vocals, Turquino's feel-good sound never fails to leave the audience smiling.
