Rosemary Leach is currently playing the mother of Susan Harper, a neurotic housewife, in the BBC comedy My Family. She also plays the part of Anna in BBC 4's No Commitments. From the 14th January 2009 she will be performing in Cameron Mackintosh's Oliver! as Mrs Bedwin, Mr Brownlow's friendly housekeeper who cares for Oliver when he is taken in.

Early Life

Rosemary Leach is a British actress who became well known for playing Susan Wheldon in the TV boardroom drama The Power Game from 1965 to 1969. She then had major roles in Don Quixote ,Othello,The Jewel in the Crown and To the Manor Born.

Career Highlights

During the 80s Ms Leach enjoyed a time in her career when she was nominated for many awards for her performances in A Room with a View, That'll Be the Day and Cider With Rosie. Ms Leach is now 72 and still appearing in programmes like My Family and radio shows like No Commitments both of which are comedies.

Ms Leach was awarded the Laurence Olivier Award and in 1987 was nominated for the BAFTA's Best Supporting Actress for the film A Room with a View. That'll Be the Day and Cider With Rosie, two other screen credits of Rosemary Leach, were also nominated for BAFTAs.
