Rylance was born in 18 January 1960 in Ashford Kent. His parents moved to Connecticut in the United States and to Wisconsin in 1969. He studied at the University School of Milwaukee where his dad was a teacher and went on to win a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA).Career Highlights
Rylance has appeared many a times with the Royal Shakespeare Company playing the title roles in Hamlet (1988) which toured Ireland and England for a year and the US for two year and Romeo in Romeo and Juliet(1988). He became the first artistic director of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in 1995.Rylance also hit the stage in Boeing Boeing in London (2007) and on Broadway (2008). He is currently starring as Valere in la Bete.
