Early Life

Lenny Henry was born in Dudley in 1958. The son of Jamaican immigrants, Henry attended St John's Primary School and The Blue Coat School in Dudley before going to W.R. Tuson College (now Preston College).

Career Highlights

Henry has enjoyed TV success over the years with television shows including Lenny Henry in Pieces and The Lenny Henry Show. He hosted a stand-up comedy tour of the UK in 2007 and hosted and performed on Live At The Apollo.

Henry also played the lead role in the Shakespeare tragedy Othello.

Henry is an avid charity worker and often appears on the Red Nose Day live TV fundraising show
